March 12 meeting update
Response to our appeal asking classmates to send reunion deposits was very strong and we now have a nice working fund to help with reunion planning. It allows us to move ahead and make deposits for facilities, caterers, music, postage, vendors, etc. We encourage others to send deposits early - it helps with planning and is a great way for classmates to make a commitment to what looks to be an exciting summer weekend. Early estimates indicate we expect 75-80 classmates and guests and continued outreach will significantly increase participation.
The next planning meeting will be Tuesday, April 1, 6:30 pm at the Schulze Winery. At that meeting we will determine the site for the Friday night casual gathering and should be able to make commitments regarding music for both nights. Work continues on a reunion program booklet and classmate directory; as well as menu selections, classmate mementos, etc. We expect to send another general mailing in late May or June that will include final arrangements and costs.
Finding the whereabouts, addresses or contact information for missing classmates continues to be our greatest challenge. We encourage classmates to check your 'Where is Everybody' website often and contact us if they can help us with connections. Even basic recollections and pieces of information help; such as last known hometown, married name or the location of a sibling or parent - little hints often open a link.
I had to leave the meeting early - Dick or Molly may have more info.
