Services for Eva May Sears, 81, of Lincoln Avenue, a retired teacher in the Newfane Central School District, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Newfane United Methodist Church, 2699 Main St., Newfane. Burial will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery.

The former Eva May Kelley, a native of the Town of Porter, died Wednesday (Nov. 17, 1993) in Newfane Health Facility.

She taught seventh grade in Newfane for 16 years before her retirement in 1970. Earlier, she had been a teacher in rural Niagara County schools for nearly 20 years.

A member of Newfane United Methodist Church for more than 60 years, she also was a member of the Newfane Senior Citizens and the Hartland Branch of the Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She was a former leader of the North Ridge Harvesters 4-H Club and had been a member of the Newfane Grange. She was a member of the state Retired Teachers Association.

Surviving are two sons, Dr. James of Bangor, Maine, and David; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
