Of Newfane, NY wife of the late Norbert T. Daigler entered into rest Sunday, March 2, 2008 in Inter Community Memorial Hospital.

Sister of Genevieve Dwyer of Illinois and the deceased brothers and sisters, John, Roland, Harry, Albert Maher, Clara Magnan, Gertrude Lang, Marjorie Schmidt and Pauline Hornick. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was born in Durhamville, NY , May 4, 1915, the daughter of the late Harry and Camille Theil Maher. She married Norbert T. Daigler August 30, 1941 in Syracuse, NY, he died September 3, 2002.

She moved to the Newfane area in 1940. Then she taught at Barker Central School. Elizabeth worked at Newfane Central School as an Elementary Teacher for 35 years retiring in 1978. Betty and Norbert provided an in ground swimming pool at their home for swimming lessons and it open to neighbors. Betty was a member of St. Charles R.C. Church and NYS Teachers Association. She also was an avid swimmer.

Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY WEDNESDAY 3-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated THURSDAY at 9:00am in St. Charles R.C. Church Main St. Olcott, NY. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery. Memorials to a charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family. The Rev. James Hassett will officiate.
