Dorothy R. Zimmerman, a retired elementary school teacher, died Monday (Dec. 22, 1997) in her Caledonia Street home. She was 87.

Miss Zimmerman was born in Newfane and had lived in Newfane for most of her life.

She was an elementary school teacher at Newfane Central School for 42 years, retiring in 1972.

Miss Zimmerman was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, North Ridge, the Newfane Golden Agers and the New York State Retired Teachers Association.

She was an avid bingo player.

Private graveside services will be held in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Cambria.
